Question:
I yawn constantly during resistance training at the gym? I mean alot any ideas why? Running out of oxygen? I am 58 just started working out and doing it slow and with a trainer. Do have COPD but feel great still. Any ideas here? Thanks for you input.

I do the same exact thing when I do my workout videos. It’s just your body’s need for an oxygen increase. At a resting state we tend to take shallow inhalations, but when we increase activity, deeper breathing is required to get the oxygen we need. Yawning is the body’s way of forcing us to breath deeper. Once the body gets what it needs, you’ll stop yawning. It’s only temporary.
Try doing some deep breathing before you start exercising.
yup yawning is always do to the brain requiring more oxygen. With COPD, you might want to consider either exercising more slowly, or concentrate on breathing deeply while doing so. It may be that you need supplemental oxygen while working out, but that is a last resort sort of thing and you need a doctor’s prescription to get it.
