Is it true that strength training is better than cardio?
Question:
I read somewhere that strength training and resistance training is better for you than cardio. Is that really true? I’ve always thought that cardio is better for you. However, when I first starting eating healthier and exercising I did a lot of strength training and lost about 10-15lbs doing that. While I do both now, is one really better than the other?

It depends on what your fitness goals are. In reality, for most people a combination of cardio and resistance training is best.
not better but complementary.
cardio helps endurance, heart rate, etc..
strength helps build muscle.
so, the more muscle, you burn more fat… but, cardio is essential for fitness.
Depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.
But if its general health, weight training is.
Builds muscle, muscle burns fat, metabolism is better. Better support for you skeleton. Strengthens bone tissue.
You do get a cardio workout from lifting, especially if you do a circuit.
Also, think of distance runners. Do they look as healthy as someone who lifts?
