I’ve Got a Question:
I am about to start P90x and instead of dumbbells I am going to use resistance bands but I’m not sure what size I should get. I don’t wont to get bulky just lose inches and tone up. I will also be using the band instead of the pull up bar for now because I know I will not beable to do that yet. Thanks for the help

I disagree with both @Blair and @PFranklyX. Screw those bands with handles already attached. You’ll be disappointed.
Click here to get yourself a REAL set of resistance bands from Bodylastics. They have clips on the end that can be attached to the INCLUDED handles, door anchor and ankle straps. Then you can adjust the resistance however you like, as needed. With Bodylastics, you’ll be able to workout your entire body, not just upper body. And different muscle groups will need different resistance levels. You simply can’t do that with those P90X bands without having to buy multiple bands and they only have 3 available.
Oh, click here to get absolutely free workouts for the Bodylastics bands.
The general strength of the band does not matter so much, because you can always increase the resistance by shortening the distance from the handle to the pivot point (under foot, or in door etc).
The shorter the length, the higher resistance. It is recommended though that you get a light & medium resistance for general toning. Don’t get anything too heavy.
Good on you for getting started. This is the best thing I have ever done. I’m almost finished and have already achieved my weight loss goals. I’m starting Insanity next month. Look out
Good luck with it all.
I’ve been doing P90x off and on for the past couple of months. It’s great that you have decided to start. Stick with it!
I would get a light and medium bands to start. Some exercises you will want the light and others you will want the medium. Especially after the first month. You will probably use the medium band more than the light. When doing the pull ups make sure you have something sturdy to hold the band up. Some bands come with an attachment that goes in between a door and the door frame.
And remember "just keep pressing play".
