    Some of the better resistance bands like Bodylastics actually have the resistance levels stamped on the side of the clips on the individual tubes.

    Other times, unless your instructions come with some type of tension declaration for each band, you can check if the company’s website mentions it. However, some only say light, medium, heavy, etc.

    Here’s a chart for Bodylastics that will show you how to combine the bands for custom resistance levels. It makes it a lot easier to track your progress and increase the resistance as your muscles adapt.

    The best way to do it is to just compare the feel of the resistance band to free weights, other than that it would be pretty hard to do. You could try hanging the resistance band from the center of the band (at the point which would be anchored) and hang a measurable weight from it until the band extends to the distance you would be pulling it during a certain exercise. This would give you the weight at the highest resistance during that exercise. However I wouldn’t worry about it too much. hope this helps :)
