Good Exercise Equipment: Resistance Bands
Q: Are resistance bands any good? I just need the to get ready for wrestling season this may. They are just for conditioning.
A: They are, but only if you get the right kind. Skip the ones that already have handles attached. Look for ones with clips on the end like the Bodylastics set shown below. As a wrestler, you already know that when you workout, different muscle groups can pull/push more resistance than others. Using bands (actually, they’re tubes) with a clipping system, you can combine the bands for tailored workouts, but most importantly, for progressively increasing the tension as your muscles adapt. Don’t forget to get extra protein for your muscles. Whey protein isolate is perfect.
